Kuala Lumpur: Police have recorded the statements of 47 individuals to assist in the investigation into the disappearance of Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh on April 9, but no new leads have emerged so far.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa stated that among those whose statements were taken are her three children and a close friend in Singapore, while the rest were recorded locally. Despite these efforts, the investigation has yet to uncover new information regarding her whereabouts.
Datuk Rusdi elaborated that there have been no suspicious cash transfers from Pamela's bank accounts, and no political elements appear to be involved in her case. He addressed speculations about her husband's involvement, confirming that investigations are ongoing for all individuals connected to Pamela.
The police chief mentioned that while the remand order against Pamela's husband was denied, he cooperated fully during his detention period. Investigations revealed that Pamela last contacted her son in Singapore a day before her disappearance.
In response to rumors about Pamela applying for foreign citizenship, Rusdi clarified that the application was of a personal nature, and the police have not yet verified this claim. Pamela, aged 42, was reported missing on April 9 while en route to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya via an e-hailing service. A report concerning her disappearance was lodged at 3.02 pm on that day.
