Pandikar and Wife Defeated in Sabah State Election

Kota kinabalu: Both former Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia and his wife, Puan Sri Diana Diego Yusrina Sufiana, faced defeat in the recently-concluded 17th Sabah state election.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pandikar Amin, the president of the United Sabah National Organisation (USNO), contested on a Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) ticket in an 11-cornered fight for the Pintasan state seat. He was defeated by Independent candidate Datuk Fairuz Renddan, who won with a majority of 1,070 votes.

Meanwhile, Diana, who serves as the deputy women's chief for GRS, competed in a six-cornered contest in Sekong. The seat was clinched by Alias Sani of Parti Warisan (Warisan), who secured 6,487 votes.
