Pang Ron-Su Yin Aiming for First World Tour Title at German Open – Head Coach

Mulheim an der Ruhr: Rising mixed doubles pair, Hoo Pang Ron and Cheng Su Yin, are set to compete for their first World Tour title at the 2025 German Open, which commences today and runs until March 2. National mixed doubles head coach, Nova Widianto, emphasized the importance of this opportunity as the duo enters the tournament as the second seeds, with many top international pairs absent from the Westenergie Sporthalle event.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Widianto expressed optimism about the pair's chances in the Super 300-level competition, noting the lack of participation from some world-renowned pairs. He encouraged his players to focus on their performance and seize this chance to claim the championship. "We have already anticipated that the German Open would be quite quiet from world-renowned pairs. This is the time to take the championship. So we told them that it's important that you just fight. Fight, and the championship will come by itself," he shared with reporters during a training session.

Pang Ron and Su Yin are scheduled to begin their German Open journey against Algerian pair Koceila Mammeri and Tanina Violette Mammeri tomorrow. The duo's most notable achievement since their pairing in 2023 was finishing as runners-up at the 2024 China Masters, where they were narrowly defeated by Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping of China with scores of 23-21, 23-25, 16-21.

Widianto remains hopeful that a victory in Germany will boost Pang Ron and Su Yin's confidence, propelling them to further successes. However, he cautioned against complacency, urging them to remain driven and pursue victories in future tournaments.
