Pansar’s Unit Secures RM477.69 Mln Highway Construction Contract

Kuala Lumpur: Pansar Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a RM477.69 million contract by the Sarawak Public Works Department for the design and construction of a section of the Serian-Gedong-Samarahan Dual Carriageway Highway.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the contract entails the creation of an 8.5-kilometre, four-lane dual carriageway highway. This project includes two bridges, an Autonomous Rail Transit reserve, bicycle tracks, utility corridors, road lighting, and related infrastructure.

The company disclosed in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that the contract period is set for 36 months, with the project's commencement scheduled for February 2025. The company anticipates that the contract will positively impact the group's earnings and net assets as the project advances during this timeframe.

Pansar specified that the project covers Section 1B of the highway, extending from Simpang Tanah Puteh to Gedong Isthmus. The company also clarified that none of its directors, major shareholders, or any related individuals have any direct or indirect interest in the contract.
