Para Cyclists Win Two Sprint Golds At 2026 ACC Today

Tagaytay: The national para cycling squad won two gold medals in sprint events at the 2026 Asian Track Cycling Championship (ACC) in Tagaytay, the Philippines today. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Yusof Hafizi Shaharuddin clinched the first gold medal in the C1 (physical disability) category, triumphing over Saudi cyclist Abas Alhashim in the final showdown. The second gold medal was secured by Ahmad Zharif Ahmad Nazri in the C5 (physical disability) category. His teammate, Zuhairie Ahmad Tarmizi, achieved a commendable second place, while Ruito Kameda of Japan took third place. The national team's success was further highlighted by the victory of national women's para track cyclist Nur Suraiya Muhamad Zamri, who won the gold medal in the women's B (visual disability) category sprint event yesterday. She emerged victorious against Kazakhstan cyclist Kalaus Anastassiya in the final.
