PARIS 2024: NATIONAL LEADERS RALLY BEHIND TEAM MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has extended his best wishes to the national contingent set to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games, officially opening tomorrow and running until Aug 11.

Fadillah, who is also the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, believes that all Malaysians stand firmly behind the athletes representing the nation.

‘You have all demonstrated strong dedication and a resilient fighting spirit on your journey to the Paris 2024 Olympics. I am confident that you have made the best preparations to achieve outstanding success and bring honour to our nation on the global stage.

‘Remember, you are not alone; we are all with you. You are an inspiration and a source of pride for Malaysia,” he said in a one-minute, 12-second video on his Facebook page today.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, also extended his best wishes to the athletes, hoping they would bring
glory to the nation.

‘Malaysia’s mission to end nearly seven decades of waiting for its first Olympic gold medal begins with the archery competition, scheduled to start this evening.

‘Believe in your abilities and remember that all Malaysians stand firmly behind you, offering unwavering support and prayers.

‘Fight on with full spirit and dedication. Come on, Malaysia, we can make history. We are all Team MAS,’ he posted on Facebook.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil also wished the athletes success and urged the public to follow the live coverage by RTM – Radio Televisyen Malaysia, the official broadcaster of the Paris 2024 Olympics, through TV Okey, the RTM Sports channel, and six additional channels on RTMKLIK for free.

‘Do your very best; Malaysia is with you. We all pray for your success. We are all Team MAS,’ he said in a 23-second video on his Facebook page.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said also extended her best wishes to
the Malaysian athletes for the games, which officially opens tomorrow.
