Parit Yaani Seat Campaign Manifestation Of Najib’s Four-year Service

Kuala lumpur: The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Parit Yaani state seat, Datuk Najib Samuri, described the campaigning phase for the 16th Johor state election not merely as a period for garnering votes, but rather as a manifestation of the community service that has been 'rooted' for the past four years.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Najib said that based on continuous efforts, which includes resolving various critical local issues previously, he does not see the current official campaign period as a new beginning, but rather as a continuation of the trust that needs to be carried on. "We have been campaigning for four years. All the problematic projects have been completed and all the services have been fully dedicated to the entire community of the Parit Yaani constituency," he said when met after the BN election machinery launching ceremony at Dataran Tanjung Simpang here today.

Commenting on the one-on-one competition for the seat, Najib acknowledged that the clash presents a unique challenge for the party, but emphasised that the BN machinery is now at the highest level of readiness to maintain the coalition's victory. For now, he has reported that the momentum of his physical campaign has reached nearly 80 per cent coverage of the demographic area, which includes three main zones: Parit Yaani, Tongkang Pechah and Broleh, since it was launched in early this month.

Touching on the challenges in cyberspace, Najib revealed that there has been a slight decline in the impact of the party's social media algorithms since yesterday, but emphasised that this will not 'cripple' the smoothness of his campaign, which is now more aggressive on the ground. Meanwhile, the BN campaign for the Parit Yaani state seat continues to receive an injection of 'external energy' with the presence of the Kedah BN machinery, which is mobilised to strengthen its dominance in the Sri Gading parliamentary area.

Kedah BN chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, praised the local machinery structure, which he described as very systematic, thus facilitating coordination without the need to start from scratch. He said the smooth logistics were proven when all 30 polling district centres (PDM) in the Sri Gading parliamentary constituency, involving 17 PDM in Parit Yaani and 13 PDM in Parit Raja, were opened and fully operational as soon as the first day of the nomination process ended.

The Johor state election will take place on July 11, while early voting will be on July 7.
