Kuala lumpur: Differences in the political parties governing the Federal and state governments should not stand in the way of friendship and cooperation between them, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said. He emphasized the importance of close ties and collaboration to ensure that government initiatives continue to benefit the people.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted the necessity of cooperation despite differing political views and affiliations. He expressed gratitude for the warm reception in Melaka and the cooperation extended by the Melaka state government and the Melaka Historic City Council (MBMB). He stated that the aspiration to create a sustainable landscape in line with the Malaysia MADANI concept should be translated into actionable results.

Speaking at the National Landscape Day celebration at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Krubong, Anwar was joined by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar. Anwar also stressed the importance of national development planning that considers public spaces, including the cleanliness of food stalls.

He urged relevant authorities to allocate funds to maintain and enhance these areas rather than focusing solely on large-scale projects that benefit higher-income groups. Anwar pointed out that a significant portion of Malaysians patronize hawker stalls and small eateries, emphasizing the need for balanced development planning to ensure cleanliness and enhancement of these public dining areas.

The prime minister concluded that development should be balanced across all sectors to improve Malaysia's global standing.
