PAS To Continue Leading Perikatan Nasional – Hadi Awang

Kuala terengganu: PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said the party will continue to lead Perikatan Nasional (PN) following Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's resignation as chairman of the coalition on Jan 1.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a previous PAS Muktamar had adopted a resolution mandating the party to helm the coalition. Abdul Hadi stated, 'That is the PAS Muktamar resolution for PAS to be the chair (of PN),' during a press briefing after delivering a Duha lecture at Masjid Rusila.

Abdul Hadi further addressed inquiries regarding Muhyiddin's position, noting that no decision has been made concerning his role. He mentioned that PAS already has a candidate ready for the post of chairman.

The Marang Member of Parliament also remarked that PAS has not yet received any invitation to attend an official PN meeting to discuss the appointment of a new chairman. He cited administrative and management issues within the coalition as reasons for the delay in convening the meeting, but expressed optimism that the matter would be resolved within one to two weeks.
