Passport Of Muhyiddin’s Son-in-law Revoked, Says Home Minister

Kuala lumpur: Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has confirmed that the passport of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's son-in-law, Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, has been revoked. Saifuddin Nasution stated that the revocation followed an application submitted by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to cancel the passport of the wanted individual.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Home Minister was informed by the Immigration Department that MACC had applied for the cancellation of the individual's passport, and the action has been executed. Saifuddin Nasution relayed this information during a press conference after the Home Ministry's monthly assembly.

He also mentioned that the police and Immigration Department are involved in efforts to bring back Muhammad Adlan, who is thought to be overseas, to assist in MACC's investigation. Saifuddin Nasution emphasized the priority of enabling the two agencies under the Home Ministry, the Immigration Department and the police, to facilitate Muhammad Adlan's return.

Saifuddin Nasution noted that the ministry would investigate how Muhammad Adlan managed to travel abroad despite his passport being revoked. This comment was in response to media reports suggesting that Muhammad Adlan is currently in a Middle Eastern country.

Reports indicate that Muhammad Adlan left Malaysia for New Zealand on May 17, 2023, shortly after his father-in-law, the former prime minister, faced charges related to several corruption offences.
