PDEA seizes P3.4-M shabu in Cavite

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated some PHP3.4 million worth of shabu from an alleged big-time drug peddler and three others in an entrapment operation in Dasmariñas City, Cavite on Tuesday. In a report on Wednesday, the PDEA-Pampanga identified the alleged big-time drug dealer as Hedwig Ramos, 40, a resident of Barangay San Nicolas 1st, Lubao town, this province. Those arrested with him were identified as Ryan Comerciante, 43, a resident of Barangay Sta. Clara, Sta. Maria, Bulacan; Mark Angelo Marasigan, 36, of Barangay Malaban, Biñan City, Laguna; and Lester Ramos, 37, of Malibay, Pasay City. The PDEA said Ramos has been reportedly involved in the bulk distribution of shabu in this city and nearby towns in the province. “We were able to secure a drug deal with Ramos for the purchase of 500 grams of shabu and agreed to meet in San Fernando, Pampanga. However, when we reached the meet-up place in San Fernando, Ramos called and instructed the undercover agent to meet him in a mall parking lot in Dasmariñas City where they were arrested,’ the agency said in a report. Seized from the suspects were five knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing some 500 grams of shabu worth PHP3.4 million, and the marked money used during the drug sting. The successful operation was conducted by combined elements of PDEA-Pampanga and PDEA-Calabarzon. The suspects will be charged with violating Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) in relation to Section 26B (conspiracy to sell) of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
