PDRM Plans Book Documenting Senior Police Officials’ Special Ops Experience

Kuala Lumpur: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) are planning to compile a book that will chronicle the experiences of former senior police officials involved in special operations, intended as a reference for junior officers and personnel. Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay revealed that input and information have been solicited from members of the Retired Senior Police Officers' Association (Respa), who played roles in successful operations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ayob highlighted that while the Special Branch has already documented its operations, many operations within the Criminal Investigation Department remain unrecorded. He emphasized the necessity of capturing these experiences to prevent new officers from repeating past mistakes. The initiative aims to serve as a comprehensive guide for officers newly engaged in such operations.

Ayob acknowledged the complexity of the project, noting that it would take considerable time as it involves retired officers sharing their insights and experiences. He mentioned that many retired senior officers have personally approached him with sensitive legal issues, which he has found valuable for guidance.

During his speech, Ayob encouraged Respa members to keep their personal information updated in the e-Pesara PDRM system. This includes their latest addresses, health status, and beneficiary contact details to ensure seamless communication regarding government benefits.

Additionally, Respa provided donations totaling RM51,712 to the beneficiaries of the Sungai Senam Camp Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) Unit 5 personnel, involved in a recent crash in Teluk Intan. Ayob handed over a cheque to FRU deputy commander ACP Mohd Fadhli Daud, who accepted it on behalf of the beneficiaries.
