Kuala Lumpur: A total of 3,577 Indian entrepreneurs have accessed financing amounting to RM32.65 million through the Prosperity, Empowerment and A New Normal for Indian Women (PENN) programme as of December 31, 2024.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Datuk Seri R. Ramanan highlighted that the initiative, managed by Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia, has significantly supported Indian women in their entrepreneurial ventures, thereby contributing to their personal and familial advancement.
He further elaborated during the question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat that the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (Kuskop) and its associated agencies remain dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship among women, including housewives. This is achieved by offering mentoring and entrepreneurial training programmes encompassing aspects such as technology, skills, and business management.
