Perak: Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) has mobilised its election machinery to Sabah, focusing on five state seats within the Tawau and Kalabakan parliamentary constituencies in preparation for the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN). Perak BN chairman Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the machinery had been tasked with assisting in campaign preparation and strategy in those areas to ensure smooth operations ahead of the election.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad emphasized the importance of understanding local needs and voter sentiments. He stated, "I will also go on the ground to assess local needs. Our (Perak BN) role is to provide support, while the local teams understand the voters' sentiments better." His remarks were made following the state-level Basic Youth Entrepreneurship Programme, Cooperative Entrepreneurship Basics, and Junior Food Security Innovation Challenge at the Gopeng Rural Transformation Centre (RTC).
On October 6, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor announced the dissolution of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly, paving the way for the upcoming election. The assembly comprises 79 seats, with 73 contested and the remaining six appointed assemblymen. The Election Commission (EC) is set to hold a special meeting this Thursday to discuss key dates and other matters related to the state polls.
