Perak Distributes 63,303 SPM Reference Books To Boost Student Performance

Perak: The Perak state government is continuing its 2026 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) additional reference book initiative under the Cikgu Saarani Tuition Programme (TCS), distributing 63,303 copies to students statewide this year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad stated that the initiative, led by Yayasan Perak in collaboration with the Perak State Education Department, targets students with the potential to pass, helping them master core subjects through structured, concise and effective learning materials.

The Chief Minister highlighted that this year's distribution, which increased from over 53,000 copies last year with an allocation of around RM1 million, reflects the state government's ongoing commitment to advancing education. He made these remarks during a media briefing at the book handover event at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan. For the first time, the initiative has also been extended to potential candidates from Sekolah Menengah Tahfiz Darul Ridzuan and Sekolah Menengah Agama Rakyat under the Perak Islamic Religious Department.

The reference books were developed by experienced educators, focusing on an analysis of students' needs, with an emphasis on concept mastery and exam answering techniques.

Saarani further mentioned that the state government will continue to support educational initiatives through Yayasan Perak and the State Education Department to positively impact student achievement and the development of the state's human capital.
