Perak KPDN Busts Suspected Diesel Diversion Operation In Hutan Melintang

Hutan melintang: The Perak branch of the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) seized diesel and a tanker lorry worth RM202,211.20 during a raid at a fishing jetty in Hutan Melintang early yesterday. State KPDN director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail stated that the 3am operation was the culmination of a week-long intelligence exercise focusing on suspicious tanker lorry movements in the area.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the operation led to the detection of a tanker lorry believed to be transporting 21,840 litres of diesel from the Klang Valley. Investigations revealed inconsistencies in the information provided and an unusual supply chain. Two local men, aged 60 and 30, identified as the site owner and the lorry driver, were detained to assist in the investigation.

Kamalludin noted that the site owner was unable to produce valid authorisation documents from the Controller of Supplies Malaysia for dealings involving controlled goods. Enforcement officers seized a 27-tonne tanker lorry, 21,840 litres of liquid suspected to be diesel, and several related documents. The case is currently being investigated under the Supply Control Act 1961 and the Control of Supplies Regulations 1974.
