Perak KPDN Seizes 170kg Subsidised Cooking Oil In Ipoh Raid

Ipoh: The Perak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized 170 kilogrammes of cooking oil in 1kg packets during Ops Tiris 4.0 at the Lahat Industrial Area here yesterday. State KPDN director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail stated that acting on a public complaint, enforcement officers raided a room used to store these packets of cooking oil at approximately 3:30 pm.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the raid led to the discovery of 170 kilogrammes of cooking oil in 1kg packets of various brands in the room. A 39-year-old Bangladeshi man who claimed to be the tenant of the premises was detained to assist in investigations after failing to produce authorisation documents from the supply controller for dealings involving controlled goods.

Kamalludin mentioned that the total value of the seized goods was estimated at RM425. He further added that the case was being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 and the Control of Supplies Regulations 1974.
