PERAK KPDN SEIZES MORE THAN 500KG OF SUBSIDISED OIL PACKETS STORED IN A HOUSE

IPOH, The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN) seized 527 kilogrammes (kg) of subsidised 1 kg cooking oil packets in a raid at a residential premises in Taman Meru here yesterday.

Perak KPDN director Datuk Kamalludin Ismail said a team raided the premises following tip-offs and surveillance.

“Upon inspection of the single-storey residential premises, a local man believed to be the owner of the residence was found residing there and all the cooking oil packets were discovered in the parking area of the premises.

“Further checks revealed that the owner of the premises did not have any valid authorisation or permit to store controlled items,” he said in a statement today.

Kamalludin said all the packets of cooking oil had been seized for further action with the value of the seizure estimated at RM1,317, with the case being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 and the Control of Supplies Regulations 1974.
