Perak MB Urges Malaysians to Honor the Jalur Gemilang

Ipoh: Every Malaysian who understands the meaning of a sovereign and independent country has a duty to respect the Jalur Gemilang flag, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said. Respecting the Jalur Gemilang flag is not a question of race, skin colour, religion or party affiliation, he added.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saarani emphasized the importance of flying the Jalur Gemilang properly and with respect, ensuring it is not displayed upside down or allowed to become worn or torn. Saarani made these remarks during his speech at the Perak-level National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Flag 2025 campaign. He encouraged Malaysians to correct any improper displays of the flag and to educate those who may not understand its significance.

Saarani highlighted that respecting the Jalur Gemilang flag is synonymous with respecting the country itself, as the flag represents the nation's dignity, history, and future. He called on Malaysians to unite under the flag and to be inspired by its presence as they work towards building the country's future.

He further reminded the public of the importance of commemorating National Day celebrations as an expression of living in peace and unity. Saarani urged Malaysians to be grateful for their independence, emphasizing that it should be more than just a date on the calendar.

The campaign launch featured various activities, including exhibitions, a Rahmah Sale, a children's costume contest, and services from different agencies. Performances by local artistes, such as Zamani Siam, also entertained attendees.
