According to BERNAMA News Agency, the police have also pinpointed 43 traffic congestion hotspots exacerbated by the increased number of vehicles during the festive period. Notable areas include the Slim River Toll Plaza traffic light, KM73 Jalan Teluk Muroh-Sungai Wangi near the Kampung Lumut Kiri traffic lights, Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur (Gopeng Toll Plaza), and Pekan Selama.

These details were shared by Zulkafli during a media conference after the inauguration of the state-level Road Safety Control Campaign for the 2025 Chinese New Year at the Taiping Selatan Toll Plaza on the West Coast Expressway. He emphasized the deployment of 250 officers and rank-and-file personnel during the Jan 28-Feb 2 Op Selamat 23 operation to ensure smooth traffic flow and road safety.

Furthermore, Zulkafli highlighted six primary traffic offences that contribute significantly to road accidents during the festive season: speeding, driving on the emergency lane, overtaking on the double line, cutting queues, running red lights, and using mobile phones while driving.
