Kangar: The Women's Leadership Apprentice (PERANTIS) Programme, introduced last year, has proven to be an effective platform for training and guiding women to become competitive global leaders. Perlis Women's Development Office director, P. Kalai Kumar, highlighted that the programme provides participants with mentorship from experienced women leaders and practical training to help them develop vision, leadership skills, and strong communication and social advocacy abilities.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perlis has produced four successful women leaders under the PERANTIS initiative. These women mentor participants in areas such as entrepreneurship, economics, and leadership education. The programme has received encouraging participation in the state. Kalai Kumar expressed confidence in the potential of Perlis women, emphasizing their capability to transcend local boundaries and emerge as regional and eventually global players. This was stated during the Seminar on Empowering Women Entrepreneurs and Contractors Towards the Global Stage.

Kalai Kumar further mentioned that selected women leaders under the programme will receive grants of up to RM50,000 to carry out leadership development projects in fields such as politics, economy, social development, technology, law, security, well-being, education, and health.
