Kota bharu: The Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) has effectively managed 1,238 Return To Work (RTW) motivation cases since 2024. Its director, Nora Yaacob, reported that out of these cases, 827 individuals have successfully reintegrated into the workforce and are now independently generating income through entrepreneurial ventures.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nora Yaacob highlighted the case of Mohd Fazreeriwani Mohamad Arjunazri, an RTW participant who has regained his ability to work. Following an accident, he received RM17,970 in temporary disability benefits and permanent disability benefits, which included a bulk payment of RM7,179.24 and lifetime monthly payments of RM207, as explained during the Cakna Prihatin PERKESO-Tabung Haji (TH) programme in Wakaf Bharu.
Mohd Fazreeriwani, aged 39, expressed his gratitude for what he described as 'a second life', as he managed to walk again after suffering paralysis from a fall while performing wiring work over two years ago. His injuries, which impacted his backbone, initially left him immobile from the waist down. However, with PERKESO's support, he underwent a three-month rehabilitation program at the Melaka PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre, enabling his recovery.
He shared his journey, expressing gratitude for the physiotherapy treatment that facilitated his return to work. Now, he supports his family by selling kuih and preserved fruits and is appreciative of PERKESO's assistance from the day of his accident in August 2023, through his surgery and recovery. Looking ahead, Mohd Fazreeriwani plans to increase his kuih production and expand his market, with hopes of assisting others in similar circumstances to achieve financial stability.
