Perlis: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) Perlis branch is aiming for RM20,000 in sales from the one-day Semarak Aidiladha Special Sale, taking place today at the Simpang Empat Permanent Farmers Market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, State FAMA director Mohd Anzara Azizan announced that the sale features 50 traders offering a total of 8.3 metric tonnes of food supplies. This initiative allows consumers to purchase essential goods at discounted prices ahead of the Aidiladha celebration. The sale includes 0.2 metric tonnes of local beef, 0.1 metric tonnes of chicken, 3.0 metric tonnes of fish and seafood, 2.0 metric tonnes of vegetables and fruits, and 3.0 metric tonnes of local white rice, with prices reduced by 10 to 30 percent compared to the market rates.
Mohd Anzara highlighted the introduction of the Happy Hour MADANI Combo set, which bundles onions, mustard greens, sugar, and cooking oil, each in a one-kilogramme package, for just RM5-half of its original price. Demonstrating strong demand, 100 MADANI Combo sets were sold out in just 10 minutes.
Additionally, FAMA is collaborating with the Prime Minister's Department's Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) under the 'Ziarah Kasih Insan Aidiladha' programme. This collaboration includes providing three cows, or approximately 280 kg of meat, for distribution to selected heads of households (KIRs) in the state.
