Perlis to Attract Chinese Investment in Nuclear-Based Green Technology

Kangar: Perlis is expecting to secure new investors in a nuclear-based green technology project after a Chinese company expressed its interest in exploring the potential of investing in the state. Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli said the company expressed its interest following a recent meeting with the state government together with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority in China.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the state government's working visit to China provided a positive impression of the capabilities offered by the technology. The state government is hoping for further negotiation to be finalised soon, Mohd Shukri added.

'Insya-Allah they (the company) will come to Perlis after this to present their proposal for investment. We see the technology they bring as having potential to be developed in Perlis, especially in Chuping Valley Industrial Area (CVIA),' he told reporters after chairing the state executive council meeting at Kompleks Seri Putra.
