PERNAS CHANNELS RM45,600 TO BRING AIDILFITRI CHEER TO 80 ORPHANS

Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (Pernas) has channelled RM45,600 to the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Damai Kuang in Selangor and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Nur Syaheera, Kuala Lumpur to help 80 orphans to buy items in preparation for Aidilfitri celebration.

Its chairman Datuk Hazimah Zainuddin said that the Sinar Ramadan programme, which is Pernas’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, demonstrates the company’s deep concern to help the needy, especially orphans, to celebrate a meaningful Aidilfitri.

“In March, Pernas implemented CSR with Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Pantai, a Pernas foster school, to help asnaf students prepare for school.

“Meanwhile, the Sinar Ramadan is Pernas’ second CSR initiative to treat orphans with a breaking of the fast event as well as presenting them with raya essentials and ‘duit raya’,” she said in a statement today.

The contributions were presented to the orphans at the Sinar Ramadan Pernas 2023 breaking of the fast event here recently.

The event was also attended by Pernas Executive Committee chairman Datuk Abu Bakar As-Sidek Mohd Sidek, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Damai Kuang manager Muhamad Syafiq Suhaimi and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Nur Syaheera co-founder Suzana Jaafar.

Apart from donations to buy items such as baju raya, songkok, hijabs and shoes, each orphan who attended the event also received ‘duit raya’ of RM100 each.

Hazimah said Pernas is always committed to championing CSR programmes through the company’s three cores, namely entrepreneurship, education and community well-being, and plans to implement several more CSR initiatives this year to help those in need.
