Persona AI, Under Armour Collaborate On Humanoid Robotics Materials

Baltimore: Persona AI announced a research and development collaboration with Under Armour to study how advanced performance materials can support humanoid robots operating in industrial environments. In a statement, Persona AI said its humanoid robots are designed for physically demanding and high-risk tasks, including welding, heavy manufacturing, heat exposure, and hazardous material handling.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this automation aims to alleviate strain and improve safety for human workers. Through this collaboration, Persona AI is working to establish a global standard for robot-specific performance gear, ensuring the next generation of humanoids is as protected, agile, and resilient as the humans they support.

Persona AI Chief Executive Officer Nicolaus Radford stated that the collaboration would help the company assess how advanced materials could enhance reliability and worker protection in hazardous environments. Meanwhile, Under Armour Senior Vice President of Innovation, Design Studio, Development, and Testing, Kyle Blakely, mentioned that the initiative provides an opportunity to apply the company's materials innovation expertise to robotics applications beyond sportswear.

As Persona AI continues to develop and test its systems for industrial applications, the company is evaluating how external material layers may enhance durability, thermal regulation, and overall humanoid performance in real-world conditions. This collaboration brings together Persona AI's robotics expertise and Under Armour's innovative approach to creating materials designed for high-performance use.

The joint effort focuses on early-stage research and testing, examining how different textiles perform under heat, friction, and repetitive motion as part of efforts to develop robot-specific performance gear.
