Port dickson: Petron Malaysia Refining and Marketing Bhd has commenced limited and intermittent refinery operations at its Port Dickson facility in Negeri Sembilan. The initiative aims to process existing in-tank crude inventories to support product availability during the ongoing West Asia crisis.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the company emphasized that these temporary operations are part of its commitment to ensuring national energy security. This move comes in response to the disruption caused by the collapse of Petron's product jetty during Tropical Storm Senyar on November 28, 2025.
In a recent filing with Bursa Malaysia, Petron Malaysia elaborated on its ongoing efforts to mitigate operational constraints. These include securing crude supply to maintain limited and stable refinery operations while a new jetty is under construction. The company stated that debris-clearing efforts at the site of the sunken jetty are underway, with major contracts for the new jetty's construction already awarded.
Petron Malaysia revealed that the replacement works for the jetty have begun, with commissioning expected in the first quarter of 2027. The refinery is anticipated to resume full and normal operations once the new jetty is operational.
