Kuala lumpur: PETRONAS and Microsoft have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance their strategic collaboration in a variety of areas focusing on innovation and sustainability. This initiative aims to bolster the development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled economy and ecosystem in Malaysia, while also supporting energy transition efforts across Asia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of Energy Asia 2025. Representing PETRONAS were Ir Ts Mohd Yusri Mohamed Yusof, Senior Vice President of Projects, Technology, and Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (PT and HSSE), along with Izwan Ismail, Vice President of Group Technology and Commercialisation. Microsoft Malaysia was represented by its Managing Director, Laurence Si.

This collaboration marks a significant step in the ongoing partnership between PETRONAS and Microsoft, aligning with Malaysia's vision to establish itself as a leader in AI and sustainable energy solutions. The joint efforts are expected to contribute significantly to the nation's economic growth and technological advancement.
