Kuala lumpur: Petroliam Nasional Bhd's (Petronas) planning is assisting the government in providing sufficient oil and gas supplies at least until May, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. 'This is very helpful to the people and the country,' he said.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister mentioned in a video message that the government has established the National Economic Action Council and selected credible figures to assist in this area. Several special programmes have been held by the Cabinet and special committees to ensure that fuel consumption is controlled and energy supplies are guaranteed.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude towards Petronas for its planning, which aids the government in guaranteeing sufficient oil and gas supplies until May, benefiting the people and the country significantly.

He further explained that the government had announced early measures, including more controlled Aidilfitri celebrations. The government plans to introduce austerity measures and a more moderate celebration approach to manage resources effectively.
