Petronas:wned subsidiary PETRONAS Energy Guyana Sdn Bhd (PEGSB), has signed a Petroleum Agreement (PA) for Block S4, located in the shallow offshore region of Guyana. The PA was executed with the Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, together with consortium partners TotalEnergies EP Guyana Shallow SAS (TotalEnergies) and QatarEnergy (QatarEnergy). This signing marks PETRONAS' first foray into Guyana, further expanding its presence in the Americas region.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the agreement represents a significant step for PETRONAS as it ventures into the Guyanese market for the first time. The collaboration with TotalEnergies and QatarEnergy is expected to leverage the expertise and resources of these major energy companies to explore and develop the potential of Block S4.
This strategic move is part of PETRONAS' ongoing efforts to strengthen its portfolio and explore new opportunities in promising markets. The partnership will enable the consortium to conduct exploration activities in Block S4, which is seen as a promising area for hydrocarbon resources.
