Kuala lumpur: Pakatan Harapan (PH) is prepared for any eventuality in the Melaka state election, including the possibility of contesting independently if negotiations with Barisan Nasional (BN) do not yield an agreement. PH election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari emphasized the importance of allowing party leadership adequate time to evaluate strategic options before final decisions are made.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amirudin expressed that there is still time to observe how developments unfold. "I am not in a position to make the decision. So I have been asked to discuss it, and let's discuss. But if there is no one to discuss with, what can we do? We just move forward," he stated, following his attendance at the National Aspirations with Youth (NANBA) for the Central Zone Series 2/2026.

Amirudin, who also serves as Selangor Menteri Besar, responded to comments from Melaka PKR state leadership council (MPN) acting chairman Adam Adli Abdul Halim, who hinted at PH potentially contesting alone if cooperation talks with BN fail. He noted the dynamic nature of the country's political landscape, which provides flexibility for parties to decide their electoral strategies.

"As a political party, elections are our main business, and we will participate through various methods that can be considered. The situation is now rather fluid, and everyone can determine their own way of gaining the people's support," Amirudin concluded.
