Kuala lumpur: Pakatan Harapan (PH) will continue to champion a political approach based on values, integrity, and administrative competence while reviewing its strategies to adapt to the evolving political landscape. Amanah vice-president Adly Zahari emphasized that this approach remains central to PH's agenda, as voters will ultimately assess matters that directly affect their daily lives, including the cost of living, economic conditions, education, and government performance.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Adly stated, "At the same time, we will identify areas for improvement through a post-mortem analysis," during a conversation with reporters after officiating the Penang Amanah Convention. His comments came in response to questions concerning PH and Amanah's performance in the recent Negeri Sembilan state election, where Barisan Nasional (BN) won 18 of the 36 state seats, while Pakatan Harapan (PH) secured 11 seats and Perikatan Nasional (PN) won seven.
Adly highlighted the need for PH to refine its communication strategy to better convey the government's achievements, economic policies, and initiatives aimed at improving the people's well-being. Meanwhile, Penang PH chairman Chow Kon Yeow mentioned that the coalition plans to meet on August 8 to review the results of the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections and formulate new strategies in preparation for a potential early general election.
Chow stressed the importance of refocusing voter attention on the government's performance, service delivery, achievements, and efforts to create job opportunities. Penang DAP Chairman Steven Sim also commented on the election results, noting the significance of reflecting on the outcome to strengthen strategies and better prepare for future political challenges.
Sim urged party members to increase their engagement with the public and deliver improved services to maintain trust and confidence. "We must go to the ground and provide the best service to the people. If we did not win or failed to secure a seat, we must work harder to regain the people's trust," he remarked after officiating the KUSKOP MADANI Sales Programme (JMK) 2026 at the Taman Makok basketball court.
