Hang Tuah Jaya: PKR International Bureau chairman Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin is running for the Hang Tuah Jaya Division chief post in the upcoming party elections for divisions and their Women's and Youth wings, scheduled for this month. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Senior Political Secretary to the Prime Minister expressed his commitment to delivering effective service to the people of the Hang Tuah Jaya parliamentary constituency. He also aims to prepare for the forthcoming Melaka State Election, expected to occur next year. Shamsul Iskandar highlighted his previous experience running for the Hang Tuah Jaya Division chief post in 2022, contesting the Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat in Perak during the 15th General Election, and collaborating with Hang Tuah Jaya Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Adam Adli Abdul Halim, as factors that bolster his confidence in providing exemplary service. He made these remarks to reporters following the Hang Tuah Division's Aid ilfitri Open House event held last night. The current Hang Tuah Jaya division chief post is occupied by Mohd Rafee Ibrahim, who also serves as the Melaka PKR chairman. On January 26, PKR Secretary-General Dr. Fuziah Salleh announced that elections for posts in divisions and their Women's and Youth wings would take place from April 11 to 20. Concurrently, elections for the party's Central Leadership Council (MPP), Central Women's Leadership Council (MPWP), and Central Youth Leadership Council (MPAMKP) for the 2025-2028 term are slated for May 24. Shamsul Iskandar also mentioned his aspirations to contest the post of Vice President, a position he previously held in 2014. However, he indicated that his decision would depend on the results of the Division-level elections.
