Kuala lumpur: PKR is set to fully cooperate with the authorities after allegations emerged involving a party Member of Parliament in a RM10 million misconduct case.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, PKR Information Chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil stated that the party's leadership has been briefed about the allegations and has decided to allow the authorities to proceed with their investigations. Fahmi emphasized that PKR has nothing to conceal and is prepared to assist enforcement authorities in their probe.
Fahmi, who also serves as the Communications Minister, reiterated that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has consistently communicated that the government will not protect any individuals involved in misconduct. This principle, Fahmi noted, applies to all groups, including party members and MPs from the ruling coalition.
Fahmi further explained that for any investigation to move forward, it is necessary for the complainant to lodge an official report with enforcement agencies like the Royal Malaysia Police or the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission. He stressed that this procedural step is essential before any further action can be taken.
Media reports from the previous day revealed claims by businessman Victor Chin Boon Long that a PKR MP requested RM10 million in cash to address alleged "corporate mafia" issues. On March 16, the police confirmed they had conducted raids on several properties associated with the corporate figure in Kemensah and Sunga Long, Kajang, although both he and his wife were not present during the raids.
