Johor Bahru: PKR Vice-President Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari emphasized the significance of the recent party election results, highlighting their implications for the future of both the party and Malaysia. The Selangor Menteri Besar stated that the newly elected leadership must play a pivotal role in maintaining PKR's influence in the national administration moving forward.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amirudin expressed these views while concluding the debate on the president's policy speech at the PKR National Congress 2024/2025, held at the Persada International Convention Centre. He underscored the importance of the new leadership in ensuring that PKR remains a relevant force in government, supporting party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as he continues his second term as Prime Minister.
Vice-President Datuk Seri R. Ramanan highlighted the necessity for PKR members to regain control over public perception on social media in preparation for the upcoming 16th General Election (GE16). He pointed out that the party had become complacent after attaining governmental power, which left it susceptible to misinformation from adversaries. Ramanan expressed confidence that with strategic efforts, PKR could dominate the social media landscape and secure another victory for Pakatan Harapan in GE16, ensuring Anwar Ibrahim's continued leadership as Prime Minister.
Furthermore, Vice President Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun identified three critical issues-e-invoicing implementation, gas subsidy adjustments for small traders, and petrol price rationalization-that need immediate attention to prevent a decline in public support before the general election.
Vice-President Chang Lih Kang urged PKR members to concentrate on winning both the GE16 and the upcoming Sabah state election. He emphasized the necessity of hard work to maintain PKR's position in the federal government and ensure the continuation of Anwar Ibrahim's prime ministership. Chang also challenged the Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) youth wing to commence groundwork in challenging constituencies.
AMK chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim stressed the responsibility of PKR members to effectively communicate government policies and initiatives, as many citizens remain unaware of available benefits. Wanita PKR chief Fadhlina Sidek echoed the call for loyalty and trust in the new leadership to propel the party to greater achievements.
