PLL Signs a 20-Year Time Charter Party with MISC for Five Newbuild LNG Carriers

Kuala lumpur: PETRONAS LNG Ltd. (PLL) Has signed a 20-year time charter agreement with MISC Group (MISC) for five newbuild 174,000-cbm liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, reinforcing its long-term LNG supply reliability, while supporting customers' energy transition towards a lower-carbon future.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the agreement was recently signed by Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS LNG Limited, Ezran Mahadzir, and MISC Vice President of Gas Asset and Solutions, Hazrin Hasan. This new agreement comes after the conclusion of shipbuilding contracts between MISC and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co. Ltd. in January and February 2026. The construction of these state-of-the-art vessels will take place in Shanghai, China, with the charter commencement expected to occur between 2029 and 2030.
