PLUS Auxiliary Police Officer Dies in North-South Expressway Accident

Taiping:A tragic accident claimed the life of a PLUS auxiliary police patrol officer at KM231.3 of the northbound North-South Expressway near Taiping this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the accident was reported to the police at 8.05 am, with initial investigations suggesting it occurred around 7 am. A Perodua Myvi, driven by a 23-year-old man traveling from Shah Alam, Selangor, to Bayan Lepas, Penang, collided with the officer.

The 36-year-old officer suffered fatal injuries to the head, hands, and legs and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed.

Taiping district police chief ACP S. Saravanan noted that the incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
