Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated President Donald J. Trump on his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States (US). Anwar expressed his eagerness to work with Trump to enhance the strong, complementary, and forward-looking relationship between Malaysia and the US.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar, in his message, highlighted Malaysia's assumption of the ASEAN 2025 chairmanship and extended an invitation to President Trump to visit Malaysia. This invitation underscores the US' renewed engagement with the ASEAN region.

Anwar also noted President Trump's unique approach to global and domestic challenges, citing his significant contribution to facilitating the Gaza ceasefire before his inauguration. The Prime Minister affirmed Malaysia's readiness to collaborate on shared priorities as the Trump administration seeks to usher in a new era for America.

President Trump was sworn in for a second term in office on Monday, marking a new chapter in US leadership.
