PM Anwar Criticizes Global Inaction on Palestinian Issue

Accra:Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed strong criticism over the international community's failure to address the suffering of the Palestinian people. He highlighted the contradictions in global commitments to democracy and human rights, noting that these principles are undermined by the neglect of the Palestinian plight.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar voiced his discontent at the Sumud Nusantara Dinner, stating that the differing treatment of the Palestinian issue might be influenced by their identity as Arabs or Muslims. He emphasized the need to recognize Palestinians as human beings facing continued oppression and atrocities.

Malaysia's own history of colonialism, Anwar noted, fuels its commitment to fighting injustice. He reaffirmed the MADANI government's full support for the Palestinian cause, urging others to contribute efforts and resources despite potential risks.

Anwar also commended international participants in the Global Sumud Movement for their dedication to the cause of justice for Palestine, emphasizing their role as a voice of conscience and reason demanding freedom and justice.
