Kuala Lumpur: As the 2025/2026 school session begins today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his desire for schools to be places that are safe, comfortable, and filled with hope, highlighting education as the key to success.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar shared in a Facebook post that despite his busy schedule, he made time for a surprise visit to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Baru. During his visit, he personally observed the school environment on the first day of the session and witnessed the dedication of educators in shaping the future of the nation. Anwar emphasized that education extends beyond textbooks and examinations; it involves building dreams, seizing opportunities, and shaping hopes.
The prime minister underscored the collective responsibility of leaders, teachers, educators, and parents to ensure the success of the nation's children. He reflected on his experience as a lecturer at Georgetown University in Washington DC, where he recognized the influential role of teachers and educators. Anwar noted that educators guide not only with knowledge but with love, kindness, wisdom, and by leading through example.
Anwar also acknowledged that, despite differences between school and university settings, the spirit of service remains consistent. The new school session for students in Group B states, covering 11 states, starts today, while Group A, comprising Kedah, Terengganu, and Kelantan, began yesterday.
