Delhi: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed deep sadness over the explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday evening, which claimed several lives and left many others injured.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar conveyed his condolences through a Facebook post, extending his heartfelt sympathies to the victims' families and the people of India as they mourn the tragedy. He emphasized that if the explosion is confirmed to be an act of terror, it deserves the strongest condemnation, as there is no justification for violence targeting innocent lives and instilling fear among ordinary people.

Anwar also honored the first responders and the authorities who are working diligently to determine the cause of the blast and to bring those responsible to justice. He reassured that thoughts and prayers are with all affected by the incident.

Media reports indicated that the car explosion resulted in at least eight fatalities and left more than 20 individuals injured.
