PM Anwar Extends Aid To MAF Veteran Battling Nerve Disease

Kuantan: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended assistance to Malaysian Armed Forces veteran Mohd Rawi Hussin, who is suffering from a nerve-related disease. The contribution, comprising cash and food aid, was handed over by the Prime Minister's political secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, during a visit to Mohd Rawi's residence in Taman Balok Pantai, Kuantan, Pahang.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Farhan said the assistance symbolised appreciation for the veteran's sacrifices, which could never truly be repaid. He noted that upon their arrival, Mohd Rawi was moved to tears as they greeted him. Despite his struggles with the disease, Mohd Rawi continues to face daily life with patience and resilience.

Ahmad Farhan emphasized that Malaysia Day is more than just a date on the calendar; it is a moment to honor national heroes like Uncle Rawi, who have sacrificed for the nation, enabling the country to enjoy peace and independence today. He expressed his prayers for Mohd Rawi to be granted good health, strength, and peace, and for his sacrifices to be counted as deeds of lasting benefit.

In addition to Mohd Rawi, another armed forces veteran, Othman Ramli from Taman Balok Jaya 2 in Kuantan, also received cash assistance and a food basket from the Prime Minister as a gesture of concern and appreciation for his service. Ahmad Farhan, in a separate Facebook post shared by the Prime Minister, mentioned that Othman, affectionately known as Pak Othman, was once very active and even served as a muezzin at a nearby mosque.

However, after suffering a stroke, Pak Othman is no longer able to contribute his energy to community activities as he once did. Despite his physical challenges, his spirit remains strong, reflecting his enduring love and devotion to the nation. Ahmad Farhan expressed his hope that Pak Othman continues to be blessed with health, resilience, and grace in his life.
