Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is calling on Malaysians to participate in the 'Himpunan and Selawat Malaysiaku Bersama Gaza' event at Dataran Merdeka this Sunday. The gathering aims to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinian people's ongoing struggle.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized that the event is not only a show of support for Palestinians facing oppression from the Zionist regime but also marks the beginning of a mission. A delegation of activists will be dispatched later this month to deliver aid to Gaza.

In a statement on his official Facebook page, the Prime Minister urged Malaysians to unite at Dataran Merdeka, stating, "Let's raise the banners of justice and humanity at the 'Himpunan and Selawat Malaysiaku Bersama Gaza.' May these prayers and efforts become a source of strength for our brethren to continue to rise in the struggle to liberate the land of Palestine."

The event is being organized by the Malaysian Islamic Organisations Consultative Council (MAPIM) and Cinta Gaza Malaysia (CGM), under the patronage of the Prime Minister. It is also supported by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar, and Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa.

Organizers expect more than 100,000 participants to attend the gathering, with attendees encouraged to wear white as a symbol of unity.
