PM Anwar Receives Courtesy Visit From WEF Founder Klaus Schwab

KUALA LUMPUR, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy visit from the World Economic Forum (WEF) delegation, led by executive chairman Prof Klaus Schwab.

Describing Schwab as his ‘long-time friend,’ Anwar said their discussions covered a range of critical issues concerning regional and global economic developments.

“Prof Schwab graciously extended an invitation for me to attend the WEF in Davos next January,” he said in his latest social media post.

Schwab, the founder of the WEF, has served as its chairman since establishing the organisation in 1971.

The WEF is an independent international body that engages business, political, academic, and societal leaders to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

The forum, highly regarded in corporate circles, is best known for its annual meeting at the end of January in Davos, a resort town in the eastern Alps of Switzerland.

The next Davos meeting is set for Jan 15 – 19, under the theme “Rebuilding Trust”.
