PM Anwar Resumes Duties After Successful ASEAN Leadership

Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has returned to his official duties in Putrajaya following a demanding schedule while chairing the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, which concluded recently.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister received a wave of gratitude and well-wishes from Facebook users who appreciated his dedication. Many expressed their admiration for his efforts, while some offered health and dietary advice. Facebook user MK Syuhaira Ramly commented, "Even just looking at this makes me feel tired. May the goodness and blessings of all the worlds be bestowed upon DSAI. Thank you for your hard work for Malaysia."

Several Cambodian users, including Sok Den, Mey Votey Morakot, Phala Sambath, Pov Moeun, and En Meng, extended their gratitude for Malaysia's role in the successful KL Peace Accord between Thailand and Cambodia. Sok Den remarked, "The Cambodian people would like to express our gratitude to Your Excellency for bringing peace to Cambodia. Please accept the respect and appreciation of the Cambodian people, Your Excellency Anwar Ibrahim."

Additionally, Firdaus Basri thanked Prime Minister Anwar for his leadership, and Abdul Azim offered prayers for his continued health and strength to lead the nation. During the closing ceremony of the 47th ASEAN Summit at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Anwar highlighted Malaysia's achievements as ASEAN Chair for 2025, emphasizing unity, patience, and leadership.

This summit marked Malaysia's fifth time leading the regional bloc since its inception in 1967, with previous chair tenures in 2015, 2005, 1997, and 1977. With the conclusion of the summit, Malaysia officially handed over the ASEAN Chairmanship to the Philippines, signifying the transition as Malaysia completes its 2025 chairmanship.
