PM Anwar Thanks Johor Regent for Strengthening Ties

Padang bukit gambir: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his gratitude to the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, for the gesture of friendship extended towards him. Anwar, who thanked Tunku Mahkota Ismail for granting him an audience today, urged all parties, especially political parties, not to involve the royal institution in election campaigns.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted the significance of his meeting with Tunku Mahkota Ismail, noting that it addresses political campaigns that attempt to misuse the royal institution's name. He emphasized the importance of engaging in political discourse without dragging the monarchy into election-related matters.

During the event to announce Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates for the 16th Johor state election at Padang Bukit Gambir Extreme Park, Anwar mentioned that he took the opportunity during his audience with Tunku Mahkota Ismail to discuss federal projects benefiting the people of Johor.

Anwar further stated that PH, as the ruling coalition, is committed to maintaining good relations with the Malay Rulers, valuing their perspectives and guidance. He noted that while there may be agreements and disagreements with the sultans, the federal government respects their advice and maintains open communication.

Anwar underscored that this collaborative approach is a shared stance among his colleagues in Pakatan Harapan, ensuring that dialogue and consultation remain central to their governance strategy.
