Putrajaya: Civil servants must continually strive to improve themselves and the quality of their service instead of being content with existing achievements, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. He stressed the need to strengthen sincerity, sense of responsibility, and integrity in public service, in line with Prophet Muhammad's teachings on excellence in work.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized that ranks, titles, awards, or positions mean little if duties are not fulfilled with honesty and dedication. He posed questions on whether ideas truly uplift the nation and help those who are marginalized, pressing the importance of values and responsibility to instill integrity. Anwar shared these thoughts at the National Development Symposium and Awards (SPAPN) 2025, attended by notable figures such as Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and others.
Anwar also expressed gratitude for Malaysia's strong current economic performance, citing record-high investments, low unemployment, a strengthening ringgit, and a robust economic standing in Asia. However, he cautioned against complacency, highlighting that the country's achievements stem from peace, political stability, and effective collaboration between leaders and civil servants.
He warned that success will not last without continuous effort and unity. Anwar envisioned a scenario where half a million civil servants rise with a renewed spirit to reject corruption, excesses, and power abuse. By working together, he believes Malaysia could witness an unmatched awakening, improving the nation through collective effort and integrity.
