Kuala lumpur: Shortly after returning to Malaysia from the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, Qatar, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim paid a courtesy call on Penang Governor Tun Ramli Ngah Talib at Seri Mutiara.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar was received by Tun Ramli and his wife, Toh Puan Raja Noora Ashikin Raja Abdullah, and was given a brief tour of the mini gallery at the governor's official residence. The Prime Minister also attended a luncheon in his honor, accompanied by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, and Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa.
Fahmi mentioned that he extended an official invitation to Tun Ramli for the 2025 Malaysia Day celebration occurring at PICCA Butterworth Arena. "We also exchanged views on efforts to strengthen collaboration between the federal and state governments," Fahmi noted in a Facebook post.
Later, the Prime Minister will attend the national-level Malaysia Day 2025 celebration themed Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni. The event will also see the presence of Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, representing their respective leaders.
