PM Approves Leave for Two Ministers, Decision Pending on Resignations

Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has approved the leave applications of Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, while a decision on their resignations from the Cabinet remains pending.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, both ministers submitted their leave applications and resignations, with Rafizi's resignation set to take effect on June 17 and Nik Nazmi's on July 4. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) released a statement indicating that Anwar has reviewed and approved the leave applications but has not yet made a decision regarding their resignations.

The PMO stated, "Any further decisions will be announced later by the Prime Minister." This development follows the recent 2025 PKR elections, where both ministers faced defeats. Rafizi lost his position as PKR Deputy President to Nurul Izzah Anwar, and Nik Nazmi was unsuccessful in his bid for a Vice President post.
