Police Call On Businesswoman To Assist In Probe Into New Scam Tactic

Kuala lumpur: Businesswoman Erni Dekritawati Yuliana Buhari, also known as Rita Sosilawati, has been urged to come forward and assist the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) with information related to a recent suspected fraud case, following the delivery of a package, containing ganja, to her family member's residence by an unknown individual.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bukit Aman CCID director Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa stated that the department has not yet received any official report regarding the incident. He emphasized the importance of the involved individual lodging a report directly with the CCID to allow for a proper investigation. Datuk Rusdi made these comments during a press conference held at Menara KPJ.

On Wednesday, media reports highlighted a post by Rita on her Threads account, where she mentioned that her younger sibling had received a suspicious package at her residence. Despite being addressed to her sibling's home, the name of the recipient was unfamiliar to them. Rita expressed her concern about the new scam tactic, noting that the parcel contained seven grams of ganja and was sent from Thailand. She also mentioned that a police report had been lodged following the discovery by officers from the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.
